Hello! I’m Sarah.
I’m so glad you’re here.
I’ve always been curious about people.
I’ve always wanted a deeper understanding, a compassionate perspective, and a way to see the world through another person’s eyes.
In my early 20s I turned that curious lens onto myself. I found my first therapist who helped me understand myself better. Her gentle questions, insightful reflections and thoughtful presence helped me to see a path forward.
Therapy transformed many aspects of my life. I learned to treat myself kindly, believe in my capabilities, and show up authentically in every aspect of my life.
I’ve seen the powerful transformations that happen through therapy on both sides of the couch. Therapy helped me to find the freedom and self-trust to be myself. A great gift of my life is getting to help others do the same.
“You’re so easy to talk to!”
The feedback I hear most often from new clients is that I’m easy to talk to. I feel grateful knowing that my clients feel comfortable sharing with me things that can be hard to express.
Throughout my life I’ve been told I’m a good listener. My education as a therapist has taught me even more about how to listen as well as what to do with what’s shared with me.
To me, therapy should be effective. While there is power in simply expressing the complicated aspects of life, I see my role as one of guiding you through the darkness and back into the light. We attend to the pain, but don’t linger there. Our work together has purpose and meaning.
I think you’re wonderful.
While I might not know you yet, I do know humans. And I’ve been privileged with the opportunity to get to know a fair number of humans deeply through my therapy practice.
At the foundation of each and every therapy relationship I form with a client is my deep belief that you are wonderful. In all of your humanity, with everything you’ve survived, in every gift you bring to the world, with all of your darkness and light - you are wonderful.
I believe a few things about healing that inform my work as a therapist.
You are inherently worthy. It can be easy to lose sight of our worthiness. Trauma and hard experiences can disconnect us from this fact. Therapy brings us back.
When we heal, our healing ripples out and touches everyone in our lives. One person working on herself helps to heal the world.
Relationships are crucial to our wellbeing. We are social beings who need healthy, supportive and safe relationships to flourish in life.
That with time, willingness, and attention, healing is possible - no matter what.
I believe you are wonderful, and I will hold that belief for you until you believe it for yourself.
If you like to know all the details, this section is for you.
As a Relational Trauma specialist, I help women unlock their self-confidence, heal unresolved pain, and move forward in life with renewed purpose.
How I do this work is focused around three primary modalities: Relational Psychodynamic Therapy, EMDR and Compassion-Focused Therapy.
-
Relational Psychodynamic Therapy
Genuine Personal Growth and Healing
This approach leads to a deeper understanding of your emotional experiences, relationships, and behaviors.
It focuses on the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client, which provides a safe space for exploring and understanding your internal world.
We work together to develop a deep understanding of your thoughts and emotions, including patterns that hinder personal growth or cause distress.
This approach leads to inner wisdom, emotional balance, and the ability to form and maintain healthy relationships.
-
Eye movement desensitization & reprocessing (EMDR)
Effective and Powerful Trauma Healing
This approach unlocks your ability to find resolution for traumatic experiences.
EMDR focuses on reducing the negative symptoms associated with experiencing traumatic or distressing events.
EMDR leads to decreased emotional stress, increased feelings of confidence and self-worth, and the ability to maintain balance and inner peace through life’s ups and downs.
I have additional experience with Attachment-Focused EMDR, which focuses on building a sense of safety, trust, and security in relationships.
-
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
Healing from the Inside Out
This approach focuses on treating yourself with kindness, care, and understanding, leading to improved self-esteem and a reduction in symptoms of anxiety and depression.
CFT achieves this by addressing self-criticism, fostering positive emotions, alleviating shame and self-blame, and promoting feelings of connectedness with others.
CFT has the benefit of supporting positive relationships both with yourself and with others, creating a foundation for lasting healing and breaking generational cycles.
These therapies have been thoroughly studied and are shown to be effective. I’ve also seen through my years of working with clients that these specific methods give them the relief and progress they’ve been looking for.
My Background
Education, Advanced Trainings and Licenses
Both my graduate and undergraduate degrees are in Social Work. In my career I’ve worked as an advocate, case manager, outreach coordinator, and eventually a therapist. Today I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Washington, Utah and Colorado.
Before opening Renewal Therapy Collective, I had the opportunity to provide therapy in a variety of settings. I was a therapist for a domestic violence nonprofit, in a group practice focused on maternal mental health and sex therapy, and in a primary care clinic providing collaborative care with doctors and psychiatrists.
My work today is focused on supporting empathetic women in their healing. Relational Trauma became the focus of my practice after seeing the profound transformation that comes from releasing those heavy, lonely burdens.

Outside the Office
I’m a midwestern transplant to the West. I spent 8 years in Park City, Utah, where I lived the mountain town life. I went to graduate school during that time, met my husband, and adopted our dog Zeus. The three of us moved to Wenatchee, WA, in 2021 to put down roots and find a deeper sense of community.
I balance my free time between being cozy at home with a book and exploring the Cascades on my mountain bike. I am always up for a game night with friends.
